Shelter Plus Care
Similar to the Housing Choice Voucher program, Shelter Plus Care (S+C) recipients receive a subsidy to rent from a private landlord. The S+C program is designed to prevent homelessness by providing safe and affordable housing for the chronically mentally disabled homeless individuals. S+C recipients are referred to the PCHA by Wasatch Mental Health and receive case management through that organization.
Emergency Housing Vouchers
These Vouchers are specifically to assist individuals and families who are homeless, at-risk of homelessness, fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking, or were recently homeless or have a high risk of housing instability. Clients need to apply for the Voucher Program and if these qualify for these, they can be put on a separate waiting list for EHV Vouchers.
